The Boat - Ol' Mate Cobba

The WWFC boat is a 6.5 meter offshore Kevlacat surveyed for 5 fishers plus skipper. It has twin counter rotating 150 V6 Yamahas providing a top speed of around 45 knots or 85 kms per hour!

Electronics

It's electronic package consists of a Furuno GPS Plotter and Sounder for finding the drops and the fish in some amazing waters. UHF and VHF radios provide the necessary radio coverage to ensure onboard safety and communications.

A marine stereo and CD player is available and if you like to rock while you fish, bring your favourite CD and switch on! Beethoven and Gershwin by negotiation :)

Bait & fish tanks

Ol' Mate Cobba has two live bait tanks. The first tank is in the transom coamings with another huge self-draining tank under the starboard seat pumping fresh seawater in constantly. There is also a large insulated kill tank on the port side that has held our 30 snapper and boat limit nannygai many times.

Other features

It is fitted out with all the stainless steel options including dive ladder. There is a toilet onboard for added comfort. Ol Mate Cobba has an electric winch, foam filled hulls for positive bouyancy and is outfitted with a 6 man liferaft.

With over 450 litres of fuel on board we have a range of about 200nm (335kms), enough to safely day trip or overnight Flinders or Pearson Island. This is a rugged vessel that has the horse power to cross the Venus Bay bar with ease and take to the open waters of the wild west Eyre Peninsula in comfort and style.
